Thanks to everyone who came out the Oktoberfest Cornhole Tournament hosted by JC Cornhole. It was a cold 5°C day but the rain/snow stayed away which allowed for a lot of cornhole to be played. The wind, sun and cold were all creating unique playing conditions for each game and keeping everyone on their toes.
The day started off with a Bring Your Own Partner Doubles tournament with all teams participating to figure out the WCO Regional doubles points. Scott Sullivan and Jeff Shantz walked away with the win over Jamie Cowan and Steve Poll.
We then transferred straight into the cash games. Scott and Jeff would once again finish first in the Advanced group over Jamie and Steve. In the Social division it was newcomers Cole Vivian and Kim Auchterlonie who were victorious in the finals over Jerry Halfpenny and Tom Embro.
Advanced Singles action saw Sean Stephan against Jeff Shantz in the final, where Sean would come out with the win. Dan MacMaster would finished 3rd and Scott Sullivan 4th.
Social Singles Finals saw newcomer Cole Vivian go undefeated to the finals against Phil Tavares who lost his first game and battled his way through the 2nd chance bracket to the finals. Phil took game #1 to force a final deciding game that Cole would end up winning.
Third place went to Tom Embro and fourth to Jerry Halfpenny.
Last up was the Open Blind Draw, this division saw alot of evenly matched games but after is was all said and done Jeff Shantz and Cole Vivian winning over Dan Macmaster and Kim Auchterlonie. Kristy Elinesky and Ed Kwan would finish 3rd and Steve Poll and Phil Tavares in 4th.
Air Mail Challenge for Sick Kids Foundation went to Jeff Shantz with 4 out of 8 to win $40. Bringing the SickKids Foundation pot up to $250.
